Cheyenne County Farmers Market Still Going Strong!

Cheyenne County Farmers Market Still Going Strong!

The Farmers Market has been a fixture of this county since 2019. Several observant residents noticed the local talent for growing succulent produce and creating unique and high quality crafts. They set about to organize a Farmer’s Market. It evolved into a board to take care of the behind the scenes paperwork and a coordinator to help the vendors and the commitment to take care of the vendors sales taxes so they wouldn’t need to get a EIN number. They have been having Farmers Markets ever since.

Even when local gardens are slow to produce, like this year, Y Knot Farms and Elmer Kellner bring in wonderful produce every week: tomatoes, onions, garlic, peppers and more. The crafts are extraordinary and include wood and iron working, pottery, jewelry, knitting, crocheting and embroidery. And, of course, the wide variety of baked goods from breads to cookies are all yummy. There are also plants, flowers, teas and oils.

If you have something to sell just show up! They will get you set up with a table and chairs. The fee is a modest percentage of your sales. There is a loyal customer base, good company and conversation and a good chance that Los Tacos Gordos or Filthy Fizz Sodas trucks will show up for your dining pleasure.
From June through September they are at the Courthouse park from 9a.m. to noon. From October through May they are inside at 214 W Washington from 10a.m. to 1 pm.
